Responsible Gambling

Ladbrokes.com believes in responsible gambling. Gambling should be an exciting pastime and we urge our customers to have fun but not bet beyond their means. For more information on our policies in this area – and sources of information and help – please see our Responsible Gambling section

Over 18s Only

You must be over 18 to register and to place a bet. Gambling whilst under the age of 18 is a criminal offence and Ladbrokes takes its responsibilities to prevent access by under-18s very seriously indeed. Electronic age verification checks are carried out and whilst we aim to make the process as seamless and unobtrusive as possible it may be that further information will have to be obtained direct from the customer. If we are unable to verify your age we may restrict you from withdrawing funds from your account and/or prevent access to certain products.

If we discover that someone under the age of 18 is using the site to gamble, prizes will be forfeited and stakes returned. We may also report the matter to the police, parents and the appropriate regulatory authority.

Regulatory & Judicial Authority

Licensed in the UK (our telephone and internet betting operations) and in Gibraltar (our gaming operations) we are proud that our customers benefit from some of the best gambling regulation in the world. As we operate – and are regulated - in 2 countries, the contractual terms and conditions under which betting (the UK) and gaming (Gibraltar) is offered do differ and customers should ensure that they read the relevant sections.

Restricted Territories

- We are unable to open accounts, or process bets or financial transactions, for individuals resident in Germany, Italy, Turkey or the USA.

- We accept only horse racing, greyhound racing, casino and poker bets – but not lotto, Balls, or bets on other Games, from those resident in the Netherlands.

- We do not take bets from residents of Hong Kong whilst they are in Hong Kong. However, Hong Kong residents can have an account and deposit money whilst in Hong Kong for use when outwith the territory.

We also reserve the right to request proof of residence from persons who wish to use credit cards issued in restricted territories to pay for transactions. It is the responsibility of each individual customer to ensure that they comply fully with their own local, national or state laws that relate to gambling prior to registering with us.

Dispute Resolution

Ladbrokes is committed to resolving customer disputes or complaints in a fair and equitable manner. As part of this process we are happy to refer complaints to an independent third party – the Independent Betting Adjudication Service or IBAS - for resolution. More details about how we handle and resolve complaints can be found in Did We Get It Right?

Any dispute or difference that arises shall be determined by IBAS whose ruling shall be final. If, notwithstanding the above, the customer issues court proceedings, Ladbrokes reserves the right to apply to stay those proceedings pending determination by IBAS. If a customer fails or refuses to follow the ruling of IBAS, the customer will reimburse all resulting expenses (including Court fees) incurred by Ladbrokes.
