Can anyone place a financial bet?

Anyone over 18 with a Ladbrokes account can place a financial bet as long as they have read and understood the Terms and Conditions.

What can I bet on?

Ladbrokes offers 5-minute, hourly and daily financial betting on various equity index, FX, fixed income and commodity products. You have a choice between Moving Odds/Static Level bets and Static Odds/Moving Level bets.

Trading hours

Betting is dependent on the opening and closing time of the underlying market and is detailed fully in the Product Information table shown above.

Minimum stake?

The minimum stake for financial bets is £1 or the equivalent unit of domestic currency based on a daily exchange rate.

Maximum stake?

The maximum stake for financial bets will vary depending on the offered odds and the maximum available stake. If the maximum stake is exceeded the bet slip will automatically adjust your stake to the maximum available for that bet.

How do I know if my bet has been accepted?

When the bet has been placed a confirmation will be displayed on the left hand side of your betting screen under the Recent Bets tab. When a bet has been accepted you will get an Approved confirmation. If the bet is not approved you will receive a Failed message indicating that your bet has not been placed. If you are ever left in any doubt as to whether a bet has been placed, you can check all of your bets by clicking the Bet History button which can be found on the left hand side of the screen above the session bets tab.

Can a bet be cancelled?

Once you have clicked Place Bet your bet has been sent for approval and it is too late to cancel the transaction. Financial fixed-odds bets cannot be cancelled or amended in any way by the customer.

How do I win?

Your bet wins when you correctly predict that the product's settlement level is above (blue arrow) or below (red arrow) the market level at the time you placed your bet.

What happens when a market settles at the same level I bet at?

When the product's settlement level is exactly the same as the level at the time that you placed your bet, the bet will be treated as a Dead-Heat. In a Dead-Heat half the stake will be treated as a losing stake and the other half will be paid out at the odds that were chosen at bet placement.

How are my returns calculated?

When you place a financial bet your returns are a multiple of the stake you placed plus your initial stake. For example if you place a £100 bet at 5/1, your potential outcomes will be as follows:

Initial stake £100
Potential Winnings = Stake x Odds £500
Total Return of Bet = Winnings + Stake £600

Payment of returns

Returns due on financial fixed-odds bets placed will be added to your current balance on your Ladbrokes account once the bets have been settled. This balance will remain in your account unless you submit a request for part or all of the outstanding balance to be returned to you.

Maximum payout

The maximum payout to any one customer on any one-day is £250,000. Please bear maximum payout amounts in mind when you place your bet. Even if you place a bet at prices that would exceed these limits, the maximum payout will still apply. This amount refers to the total returns of your bet including the original stake.

For further details please see Ladbrokes general Maximum Payout rules that cover all bets placed on Ladbrokes.com. These can be found in the Bet Rules section of Ladbrokes Help.

Where can I see a summary of my transactions?

All of your account history is stored in the Bet History section. This can be accessed by logging into your account and selecting Bet History on the left hand side of your financial betting screen. You will then have a choice between viewing Settled or Unsettled bets. You can easily review all financial transactions made and keep track of all bets placed.

What happens if a stock market closes early?

In the event that a market closes early for whatever reason, all unsettled bets will be void and the stake used to place the bet shall be returned.
